We are saddened to have to announce that the 2020 edition of the Lake Chaparral Open Water Swim has to be cancelled. While Alberta Health Services has increased ‘mass gatherings’ to 200, at this time the City of Calgary is not granting event permits.
While we have a ‘no refund, no transfer and no deferral’ registration policy, we want to offer you as much as we can, while sustaining this event into the future. We are providing registered athletes a credit of 75% that can be used at any of our events in 2020 (we’re hopeful that some events can occur later this year), 2021, and 2022.
When registration opens for the 2021 event (or any other event in 2020), we will be emailing all registrants details on how to use the credit.
Stay safe, keep your physical distance from others, and please stay fit!

Lake Chaparral Community Centre
Follow this map link to the race site!
There is limited parking within the community of Lake Chaparral, and the resident’s Board of Director’s has requested that we have everyone participating in the event park along the cross streets and DO NOT PARK along the “main drag – Chaparral Drive” of the community leading into the lake. This will ease the congestion around the transition area, and make everyone’s event much more enjoyable. We respectfully ask that you obey this rule, and hope it doesn’t cause any inconvenience. We have reserved some handicapped parking within the parking lot of the lake should this be required, however this will only be allowed for thehandicapped.
No pre-race pickup required
