The position

Multisportscanada is seeking the perfect candidate for the role of Marketing & Sponsorship Coordinator. The ideal candidate is responsible for building, managing and deploying sponsorship opportunities for a select number of sporting events.

The coordinator, working with Multisportscanada staff, will tailor sponsor benefit packages and pricing for a select number of events under their umbrella.  They will also build prospect lists of potential sponsors and will track sponsorship sales activities to ensure budget objectives are met and exceeded.

Finally, the Coordinator will ensure that all contractual obligations of sponsors are fulfilled, including management of exclusivity rights.


Account Procurement

  • Develop and coordinate the sponsorship programs to include long term multi-year engagements;
  • Prepare and maintain targeted lists of potential sponsors 

Account Stewardship

  • Develop and execute partner recognition strategy
  • Ensure that all sponsorship commitments are fulfilled as contracted
  • At-event service to event sponsors (as needed);
  • Responsible for the execution of sponsorship contracts
  • Maintain regular and on-going correspondence and communication with all accounts;
  • Work with Multisportscanada to create all sponsorship packages, templates and agreements;

Strategy and Planning

  • Research and develop new revenue opportunities for the key events
  • Build, manage, and evaluate annual sponsorship plan that identifies sponsorable product, target markets, package opportunities, exclusivity, naming and other related properties;
  • Develop individual sponsor benefit packages and pricing, to include (but not limited to): activation opportunities, marketing and communications exposure, networking opportunities and brand development strategies.
  • Coordinate, collaborate and consult with Multisportscanada to ensure relevance of opportunities to prospects;
  • Track prospects, sales and contract deliverables for each event

The position

This position reports directly to the local race director and will serve as the primary administrator of event weekend registration at the race package pickup (both sponsor locations and onsite on event days). This person will also serve as the volunteer coordinator for all events.

The coordinator, working with Multisportscanada staff, will ensure that each participant receives the necessary event merchandise and equipment and be able to answer any race related questions they have.


  • Manage, maintain and reconcile the registration system on event weekends (Excel/Google Sheets knowledge necessary)
  • Collect event registrations and payments
  • Enroll volunteers during event checkin
  • Other duties as assigned

  • strong database management, sports management or a related field is preferred
  • Capacity to function in a high pressure environment both as part of a team and on an independent basis
  • Self-motivated with strong time management, organization, multi-tasking and problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A passion for customer service and helping people
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, early mornings and weekends as needed during event season

The Events Coordinator team is responsible for core elements of event operations including physical site management, volunteer management, and event execution.


This individual will be expected to perform all operational functions inherent to race directing and event management. This is a contract position.  Compensation is negotiable depending on qualifications. Applicants should email their resume to

Position Requirements
