Competition Categories
Vancouver Triathlon age-group athletes compete in either the Women or Open category.
Women
For athletes eligible to compete in the Women’s category under Triathlon BC and World Triathlon rules.
Open
Open to athletes of all genders, including men, transgender athletes, non-binary athletes and other gender-diverse athletes.
Standard-Distance Waves
- Standard Open – Age 40 and Over
- Standard Open – Under Age 40
- Standard Women – Age 40 and Over
- Standard Women – Under Age 40
Gender identity information collected during registration is separate from an athlete’s competitive category. Sexual orientation is not used as a registration, results or awards category.
